Viraag’s Artist Club has set a new record for karaoke marathon by multiple artists at Palm Beach Galleria Mall in Vashi.

The singers have broken the Chinese record of 456 hours, two minutes and five seconds. The group intends to sing till Sunday evening, setting a record of around 579 hours.

Over 200 participants have been singing at the mall since July 24.

Said an elated Viraag Wankhede, founder of the club, “It is a great feeling. A lot of hard work has gone into it and we have achieved the first milestone having sung for over 460 hours. We will definitely reach the target of 579 hours.”

“Apart from setting the record, our aim is to promote national integration through music,” he added.

Wankhede said that Guinness World Record officials will be present when the record spree ends on Sunday.
