CHIEF MINISTER Mulayam Singh Yadav directed the party leaders and workers on Friday to start preparations for assembly elections.

Addressing a meeting of the chairmen of district cooperative banks, SP district unit presidents and zila panchayat chairmen, Yadav said booth committees should be constituted in each assembly segment by July 15.

Educating the party workers about the importance of the identity card in the elections, Yadav said the voters who did not have identity card issued by the Election Commission should have one of the 14 alternatives suggested by the Election Commission for identification.

The list of all the sensitive booths should be prepared and dispatched to the district returning officer immediately, Yadav said.

Stressing the necessity and importance of the organisation, Yadav said in the larger interest of the party the members should sink their differences. Everybody should work united to strengthen the organisation at the grass roots level, he said.

“When the organisation is strong, we will definitely secure victory in the coming Vidhan Sabha elections and form the next government. Get rid of laziness, greed and ego”, was his mantra to the party cadre.
