Spokesperson of Kailash Hospital said the sisters had not been eating or drinking anything for months. Anuradha was still comatose, while Sonali was slightly coherent.

"Looks like they have not consumed anything since January. Anuradha is critical, has fungal infection in mouth and is bleeding internally," the doctor treating the sisters said. "We have initiated primary treatment; the two are on multiple drips. ENT specialists and physicians are looking after them. Going by their physical condition, we assume they must have been suffering for the last few months in isolation without food and water."
