Six men have been booked for raping a management student from Rajasthan in this Haryana town, police said on Saturday.
Investigations are in progress and arrests are likely to be made shortly, said Investigating officer Ramesh Kumar, who is station house officer (SHO) of the Narnaul city police station.
"No arrest has been made so far. But we will arrest the culprits soon," Kumar told IANS.
The victim, according to the police, is an MBA (Master of Business Administration) student from Jaipur in Rajasthan and had come to Narnaul to market products of a company with which she was working part-time. She had Thursday checked into a hotel in Narnaul, 300 km from Chandigarh.
The victim was allegedly raped by six men after one of the accused, Mir Singh, called her to a market here Thursday to show the products.
In her complaint to the police late Friday, the victim alleged that she was served tea by one of the accused and she fell unconscious. When she regained consciousness, she realized that she had been sexually assaulted.
"We have registered a case of rape against six people and further investigations are on," said Narnaul district police chief Maharaj Singh.
