Six Indian fishermen have been apprehended by the Pakistani Marine Security Agency (PMSA), along with their boats from the Kori Creek area in Kutch district in Gujarat, a fishermen’s organisation said on Friday.

“PMSA apprehended six Indian fishermen on Thursday while they were fishing in the Arabian sea near the international border,” National Fisherman Forum Secretary Manish Lodhari told PTI.

They have been taken to Karachi, Lodhari said adding he had received the information from his counterpart in Karachi.

With this, the total number of Indian fishermen in Pakistan custody has gone up to 407, while the figure of boats seized by them has reached 392, he added.

Indian Fishermen Association President Veljibhai Masani alleged that since 2003 Pakistan has not released any boat and it is suspected that these are being used for spying.
