Six killed, five injured in bus-truck collision

Six people were killed and five were seriously injured when a tourist bus in which they were travelling dashed against a tree after colliding with a truck on Ambala-Jagadhri road near Mullana in Ambala today.

Six people were killed and five were seriously injured when a tourist bus in which they were travelling dashed against a tree after colliding with a truck on Ambala-Jagadhri road near Mullana in Ambala today.

All the victims hailed from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, police said adding the injured were admitted to PGI Chandigarh and a hospital in Mullana. The bus, carrying around 60 passengers who were on a pilgrimage tour to various shrines, was on its way to holy city Haridwar when the accident happened.

The passengers were asleep when the bus hit the tree after a head-on collision with a truck early this morning, police said.

The truck overturned after the collision, they said adding drivers of the both the vehicles survivied.
