At least six people, including two women, were killed and 13 injured on Saturday when a truck they were travelling in fell into a deep gorge in Tripura, police said.
"Six people died on the spot. The 13 injured were shifted to the government hospital. Seven of them are stated to be critical," north Tripura district police chief Uttam Majumder said.
The accident took place at Bhangmun, 185 km north of Agartala, near Tripura's border with Mizoram and Bangladesh.
The truck, which overturned and fell into a 90-foot gorge, was carrying labourers engaged in construction of border roads by the National Project Construction Corporation.
