AFTER A dismal performance against Gwalior on the first day of the AW Kanmadikar Trophy cricket tournament being held at the Bab-e-Aali stadium, Bhopal played well on the second day. Bhopal trail by 11 runs in their second innings. Bhopal scored 119 runs.

Resuming the overnight score of 99 runs, Gwalior scored 272 runs. Harpal Yadav’s attractive innings of 73 was studded with 10 boundaries. Ravi Sikrwar also played well but was not lucky like Harpal as the former missed his half century by three runs.

With the help of good batting by the middle order, Gwalior managed to score 272 runs and took 130 runs first innings lead. Aditya Shrivastava scalped four wickets conceding 50 runs. Trailing by 130 runs, Bhopal skipper Aditya Shrivastava, who failed even to open his account in the first innings, played a responsible knock of unbeaten 52 runs.

However, Anupam Toppo, Tanmay Patwardhan and Atul Wadichar, once again disappointed and lost their wickets cheaply. They scored 15, 13 and 7 runs respectively. Bhopal still trail by 11 runs. Friday will be the concluding day. Vikram Singh took two wickets conceding 47 runs.
