These modest eateries serve idli-wadas, kathi rolls, bun-maskas, biryani and paan. Set up in 1938, Café Mysore is one of the oldest cafés that serves authentic South Indian dishes and filtered coffee. Owned by Shantari Nagesh Nayak, it is also one of Reliance’s head honcho Mukesh Ambani’s favourite joints. “His favourite dishes are the onion uthappa and idli-wadas. Parcels are home-delivered almost everyday,” informs Manjunath Pujari, a manager at Café Mysore.

The place, we’re told, is also frequented by cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, Sanjay Manjrekar, Rahul Dravid, Saurav Ganguly and Vinod Kambli. Political big-wigs like Raj Thackrey and Kirit Somaya are known to drop by as well. A dish has actually been named after Rahul Dravid. The hot and fragnant Dravid Rasam is a favourite with The Wall.
