Established in 1998, Sanskriti, the youngest school to have made it to the top 10 schools in central Delhi, is giving its older rivals tough competition. The reasons behind the success of the school in such a short time range from an outstanding infrastructure and a healthy student-teacher ratio that ensures individual attention to almost every student to a focus on diverse co-curricular activities that not only helps in the growth of the students but also takes academic pressure off them.

The school has scored high in areas of individual attention given to students, innovative teaching and safety and hygiene.

“Sanskriti believes that you can achieve a lot with a relaxed attitude as well, and unnecessary pressure doesn’t really work,” said Ritika Khera, an alumna of the school and a student at SP Jain School of
Management in Mumbai. “Academics are never compromised but the school feels constant engagement in non-academic endeavours is necessary.”

The school has almost one teacher for every 12 students, a ratio that is much better than that of most other schools. Sanskriti offers unique co-curricular activities such as celebration of a day for grandparents for primary school students and a mandatory rural sensitisation trip for students of class 11. Other unique practices include a 30-minute interactive session between students and teachers every day. The school has approximately 60% seats reserved for children of government officers.
