?Smokeless Diwali? celebrated

india Updated: Oct 25, 2006 15:55 IST

THE CLASS VIII and IX students of Lokmanya Vidya Niketan celebrated ‘smokeless Diwali’ this year along with the jawans of the Army Physical Training Corps (APTC) at Indore.

The festival was organised in association with Anam Prem and Adventure Infosys giving a message of pollution-free Diwali, which would ultimately keep the environment clean and curb child labour prevalent in the cracker industry.

In an effort to reduce noise and air pollution due to bursting of crackers and spread this message through students themselves, Adventure Infosys, which works for various school development projects, had appealed for exercising the social responsibility according to Section 51 A (v) of the constitution which asks for contribution for the national growth through individual and social activities.
