The 34-year-old actor, who plays a chain-smoking bail bondsman in the film, revealed during an interview that he used to smoke five packs a day while he was shooting, and he was left with no urge to fag anymore by the time filming ended.
"The whole week that I shot, I smoked, like, five packs a day. By the time the movie was over, I was so sick of smoking, I just didn't want to do it anymore, and I quit. I have this celluloid record of the last time I smoked," People magazine quoted him as saying.
Affleck also said that he was very excited for the Golden Globe nomination for Smokin’ Aces, and revealed that he heard the pleasing news from his family.
"I was very happy. My wife was up early with our child and she woke me up to tell me I'd been nominated, and to get me to change the baby," he said.
The actor further said that it was a pleasure directing his brother Casey, 31, in Gone, Baby, Gone.
"A pleasure. It was like directing anybody else, except I could fantasise that if it came down to it I could throttle him," he said.
