The BJP has decided to depute two snake charmers at the venue of the party’s national council meeting here to ensure that the reptiles do not harm any of the participants in the tents.
“We have decided to depute two snake charmers at the three-day national council meeting venue,” Madhya Pradesh industries and commerce minister Kailash Vijaywargiya said on Tuesday.
Vijaywargiya said the tents for the meeting, beginning on February 17, were being put up in a township that was far away from the city and close to a forest area.
“We don’t want to take chances and that’s why we have decided to depute two snake charmers round the clock during the meeting,” a BJP leader making of the arrangements for the event said.
Madhya Pradesh minister of state for public health and family welfare Mahendra Hardia had seen a snake crawling at the venue of the meeting two days ago, party sources said.
A few days before Hardia's sighting, another snake was reportedly noticed at the venue and it shooed away by party workers.
