The Kerala High Court on Monday gave the state government two weeks time to give its views regarding entrusting the solar scam investigation to the CBI.
The direction was issued by Chief Justice Manjula Chellur and Justice K Vinod Chandran on a petition by K Sudhakaran, seeking a probe into the scam.
When this came up before the bench, advocate general KP Dandapani did not express his opinion.
According to the petitioner, the prime accused in the case —Biju Radhakrishnan, Saritha S Nair and actress Shalu Menon—have contacts with CM Oommen Chandy, the home minister and other ministers.
The investigation is now being conducted by ADGP, who is working under the home minster. It was also alleged that there is a direction from the home minister that the CM’s office should not be investigated.
