Atleast 10,98,320 electorate including 4,88,541 women and 7,005 service electorate would exercise their franchise in Sonepat Lok Sabha constituency on May 7, the day of the polling fixed by the Elections Commission.
Official sources said on Thursday that there were 6,02,774 male electorate belonging to the general category whereas there were 4,516 male and 2,489 women service electorate in this constituency. Cent per cent of the electorate had been photographed for the purpose of photo identity cards and voting on the polling day.
The Baroda constituency has the largest number of electorate 1,36, 568 whereas the Sonepat constituency has the minimum number of electorate 1,11,030. Six assembly constituencies namely, Baroda, Ganaur, Rai, Kharkhauda (R) Sonepat and Gohana fall in Sonepat district whereas Julana, Safidon and Jind fall in Jind district.
Six assembly constituencies of Sonepat district has 7,17,118 electorate.
