Sonia books berth for Asian Games

SONIA RAI has almost booked her seat for the Asian Games shooting competition. She showed her class at the Selection Shooting Trials for Asian Games organised by Shooting Federation of India. The trials were held at BSF?s Reoti Ranges on Thursday. Jaspal Rana, who took part in the competition today, also showed his class to win the first position in 25 meter Standard Pistol men event by scoring 570 points.

SONIA RAI has almost booked her seat for the Asian Games shooting competition. She showed her class at the Selection Shooting Trials for Asian Games organised by Shooting Federation of India. The trials were held at BSF’s Reoti Ranges on Thursday. Jaspal Rana, who took part in the competition today, also showed his class to win the first position in 25 meter Standard Pistol men event by scoring 570 points.

In 25 Meter Sports Pistol (women) event Sonia Rai of CISF scored 774.4 points to bag the first position followed by Anuraj Singh of Indian Airlines who scored 765 points. Anisha Sahid of Railways scored 762.8 points and took third position.

In the 25 Meter Standard Pistol event Men, Jaspal Rana of ONGC scored 570 points to top the table followed by C K Choudhry of Army who scored 566 and Ashok Pandit of Maharashtra who scored 560.

In the 50 Meter Rifle Free Position (women), Deepali Deshpande of Railways scored 6813 while Anjali Bhagawat of Maharashtra and Meena Kumar of Army scored 671.3 and 668.9 points to win the second and third position respectively.
