Congress president Sonia Gandhi has cancelled the Srinagar leg of her visit to Jammu and Kashmir on May 29, official sources said late Wednesday.
According to the sources, the decision to cancel Gandhi's visit to Srinagar, where she was to lay the foundation stone of a colony to resettle Dal lake dwellers, was taken late Wednesday.
No reasons were given for the sudden change in Gandhi's programme.
However, official sources said that Gandhi will visit Jammu May 29.
"Her Jammu programme stands as of now," the official source said.
In Jammu, she is scheduled to inaugurate a tribal cultural centre of the Gujjar community and also address a rally.
She will be accompanied by Prithviraj Chavan, minister of state in the Prime Minister's office and union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad.
