Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Thursday strongly criticised BJP government in Madhya Pradesh saying the government allegedly indulged in corruption in implementing Centrally funded schemes.
"Madhya Pradesh Government is not sincerely using the funds granted to it by the Centre under various developmental schemes. There is a lot of corruption following which the people do not get the desired results," Sonia said addressing a poll meeting in support of Union Minister of State for Agriculture and the Congress candidate from Ratlam-Jhabua seat, Kantilal Bhuria.
Sonia said her party did not need any certificate from BJP on tackling terrorism in the country, adding that when the BJP-led NDA was in power, it had bowed down before terrorists.
All the development that had taken place in the country was the result of the efforts made by the Congress which had got the country its independence, she said.
She urged to people to decide on whom they should vote on the basis of the developmental works carried out by Congress or "hollow promises" made by the BJP.
