Sonia tops table, Anjali misses mark

SONIA RAI of CISF showed her class once again today topping in the 25-m pistol event to strengthen her position for selection to the national shooting team for the Asian Games.

SONIA RAI of CISF showed her class once again today topping in the 25-m pistol event to strengthen her position for selection to the national shooting team for the Asian Games.

She has been doing well in the last three days topping in various events. On Friday, Sonia Rai scored 765.5 points to top the table.

Shaila Kanango of Maharashtra and Shewtar Choudhry of Indian Airlines won the second and third positions scoring 761.7 and 758.4 points respectively.  On the second day Jaspal Rana once again topped the table in men’s event scoring 572 points. Pemba Tamang and Rounak Pandit scored 566 and 565 points respectively for the second and the third positions.

In the 50m rifle free position women’s category, Meena Kumar of Army performed brilliantly to score 674.9 points. For the second day in succession, Anjali Bhagwat just missed the target by 1.20 points for the first position and had to be satisfied with the second position scoring 673.7 points.

Deepali Deshpande of Railways too missed the chance for the second position by a margin of 0.3 and had to be satisfied with the third position.
