MAYOR SUNIL Sood inspected ongoing development at Categorised Market and New Market on Monday and directed officials to ensure quality of work. He also strictly directed removal of encroachments that might be impeding development work.
The Mayor, during his inspection visit, also directed that drinking water pipelines be properly installed at Indranagar and that the work of general cleanliness, spray of insecticide and fogging be carried out properly. Local corporators and Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials accompanied the Mayor.
Development work of about Rs 8.45 crores is being carried out at Categorised Market, Chhola under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM). The Mayor directed the anti-encroachment squad to remain present on the spot during the course of development work so that any encroachments could be immediately removed.
The Mayor directed that a boundary wall be constructed around the open space near Kabadkhana Pump House, flatten the ground to use it for plantation and to repair the wall around the overhead tank.
The Mayor also inspected the development work worth Rs 86.33 crores at New Market and asked the officials to finish the work at earlier while keeping quality in check. He also directed to undertake some minor works of sewage lines in the market.
He also directed construction of additional lavatories in the market. Earlier, the Mayor also visited the various areas under ward number 13 and directed officials to ensure that all basic civic amenities were being provided to citizens.
Corporator of ward 13 Munawwar Ali, Vishnu Rathod of ward 17, Wahid Lashkari of ward 34, additional municipal commissioners K K Singh Chouhan and Abhay Arvind Bedekar, Prof Madhu Gargav and others were also present.
