Soz pitches in for Cong candidate

SENIOR CONGRESS leader and Union Water Resources Minister Saifudin Soz addressed an election meeting at the accountant general’s office gate on Friday in support of Congress mayoral candidate Chaudhry Jitendra Nath Singh.

The meeting was organised under the banner of Central and State Employees Coordination Committee. Addressing the meeting, Soz said if Chaudhry was elected the mayor, long pending demands  of AG’s staff would be resolved soon.

Soz said Congress would win the Nagar Nigam elections.

At the same meeting, Soz called upon people to promote Urdu language because it had played a prominent role in the freedom struggle of the country.

On employees demand for declaration of  pay commission, the minister advised the employee  leaders to meet AICC chief Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi.

Anil Shashtri, Congress Working Committee member, said people must elect the right person as the mayor who could bring the city on the development map. He said  the party had chosen Chaudhry Jitendra Singh as the best candidate  for the mayoral post. He promised that all public units in the city would have new lease of life if Congress came to power.

Mahila Congress president Dr Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Jitendra Nath Singh and Ashok Bajpai, among others, addressed the meeting.
