Soz visits flood-affected South Kashmir

Senior Congress leader and Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee president Saifuddin Soz visited the flood-ravaged areas in South Kashmir. He toured Chichipora (Lalam) Kamad, Anchidora, Anzwalla (Anantnag),Damhal Khushipora, Kokernag, Kanjigund (Homshalibug) areas which were badly affected by floods and met a large number of people.

A statement issued by his office said the people have demanded long term flood control measures. The overflowing Jhelum and several nullahs, like Vishu, Bringi, Romshu, Lidder and Sonaman have caused large scale damage in the areas.

Soz assured the affected people that every possible action would be taken to reconstruct their homes. He said the Congress would ensure that the affected people would receive compensation for their losses.

He also visited the residence of tourism minister GA Mir and offered his condolences to him for the demise of his close relation.
