SP demands CBI probe into ASI death

india Updated: Dec 08, 2006 15:14 IST

A DEMONSTRATION was on Thursday held at the   Roshanpura  Square under the aegis of the  Samajwadi Party to demand CBI enquiry into death of ASI Chetna Sharma    at Bhind and filing of a case of murder under Section 302 against the erstwhile Bhind SP Raja Babu Singh.

Later, a delegation of the party led by MLA Dr Sunilam and State vice-president of SP Mahila Sabha Aneesa Khan met Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and submitted him a memorandum in this regard.

The SP members have warned that if proper action were not initiated in the matter, a statewide agitation would be launched. In a release issued here, Dr Sunilam said that the Chief Minister heard the delegation seriously and mentioned that if the government is not satisfied with the CID inquiry, a CBI inquiry might be considered.

The     Samajwadi Party  members have   meanwhile decided to start a chain hunger strike at Bhind from Friday to press their demand of CBI enquiry and filing of case against the erstwhile SP.
