The Samajwadi Party, Telugu Desam Party and National Conference will align to form a third force in the country, SP leader Amar Singh said on Thursday.

He, however, did not elaborate as to when the alliance would come into being.

Addressing an Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) election rally in Tinsukia, Singh accused Congress President Sonia Gandhi and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee of trying to impose President's rule in Uttar Pradesh, where Samajwadi Party is in power, as they did not want the emergence of any third force.

He also charged them with having "a secret pact" to put pressure for President Rule in Uttar Pradesh even though they showed differences in public.
