The ears have it

The beauty in a pair of jug ears, as the original phrase goes, lies in the eyes of the beholder.

The beauty in a pair of jug ears, as the original phrase goes, lies in the eyes of the beholder. And as upholders of subjectivity, we fully appreciate Barbara Windsor, star of the Carry On films (she’s the one who predates Pamela Anderson in the ‘Pamela Anderson’ department), finding Charles Windsor (no relation of hers) in possession of “lots of sex appeal”. Prince Charles, as we know the object of Ms Windsor’s appreciation in more familiar terms, may be passing on the praise about himself to his favourite, ever-listening plants. But with him oozing oomph, will it be long before some other admirers — like our aunts who remember the ‘sho-shweet’ prince surrounded by dabbawallas in Mumbai not too long ago — come out of the closet?

Coming as Ms Windsor’s admission does with the news that the daughter-in-law of Prince Charles’ wife, Camilla, is three months pregnant, means that the heir to the British throne will become one sexy stepfather.

Ms Windsor — Barbara, that is — is not the only classy bird who has her eyes on another man. Camilla — that is, Mrs Windsor of the Windsor family — has recently stated that the craggy rock act with a craggier voice, Rod Stewart, “radiates sexuality”. Unlike Rod though, Prince Charles never did ask — either through a song or otherwise — that pertinent question: Da Ya Think I’m Sexy? Which, frankly, for us makes Prince Jug-Ears really cool. Another way of saying sexy, we suppose.
