Mobile service provider Spice Mobiles today reported a three-fold jump in net profit at Rs 23 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2010, over the same period last year.
Net sales rose to Rs 339 crore for the January-March quarter ended 2010, from Rs 170 crore in the corresponding year-ago period, Spice Mobiles said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The board of directors has proposed a dividend of Rs 1.50 per equity share on the face value of Rs 3 each to the shareholders.
For the 12-month period ended March 2010, the company's net profit stood at Rs 70 crore, however it had a net loss of Rs 2.7 crore in the same period previous fiscal.
Shares of Spice Mobiles were trading at Rs 74.35 on BSE, up 2.13 per cent over its previous close.

Total income of the firm rose to Rs 210.25 crore in the January-March quarter, up 23.60 per cent from Rs 170.10 crore in the same period last year, MARG Ltd said in a filing to the BSE.
For the year ended March 2010, net profit of the company rose to Rs 80.37 crore, up 96.50 per cent over the same period corresponding fiscal.
