Highlight Story

Fashion extravaganza is here, yet again! Check out some of the hottest designers from the fash frat talk about their collection they plan to showcase at India Fashion Week 2006 in the capital.

The designer who sent out Lovely Lolitas inspired by the intuitive killer instinct of a woman is this time getting ready to send out a typical girlie girl collection. "The Rocky S - Noir line has always been about femininity… this collection is very soft and fluid and yes by and large without embellishment," Rocky says.

The designer who has no theme for his collection would be sending out a collection of soft easy draped silhouettes that flatter and caress the body in colours like pastel pink, green, a hint of teal, a blush of peach, kissed with lemon and a play of ivory, ecru, beige and nudes.

"Other designers may be having fun, I'm going to be very serious this season," Rocky S laughs.

Show – Friday, September 1, 9 pm

The collection that comprises of 4-5 mini collections is the result of the designer’s trip to New York. “The one word that I heard again and again was ‘India Rocks’. The point is that the West is tired of wearing blacks, whites and grays…they need colour and it’s here that India comes in,” Dongre says.

This picture is part of her blue and white collection inspired by blue pottery, the other mini collections include her take on ‘Jackie O’ and would be romancing the waist this season. And has done plenty of white on white textures.

“It’s high time the waist came back into fashion,” she says about the collection that she’s made for the woman who’s naughty and sexy, who doesn’t mind showing just a little bit of leg rather than someone who would chose to “wear very little” – her words not ours!! ¦

Show on – Sunday, September 3, 12 pm
