THE THIRD sports day of Colonel’s Academy was organised in Mhow on Saturday. The school organises sports day every year in memory of its founder director Col Fateh Chand Bahadur.
Brig I/C Adm of Infantry School S C Upreti and his wife Geetu Upreti were the chief guests while S M Ranganath was the guest of honour at the function.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp and floral tributes to the portrait of (late) Col Bahadur. Then the torch was lighted followed by oath taking ceremony and inter-house march past competition.
A number of races, paranoid formation and aerobics formed part of the proceedings. Addressing the gathering, Brig Upreti motivated the students to take part in all the activities of the school in the right spirit. He remembered Col Bahadur in his address.
Geetu Upreti, Ranganath and Ritu Barua presented the prizes to the winners. Principal Kiran Bahadur proposed the vote of thanks.
D THAKKAR/I P GUNANI pair secured 48 points to top the table in the Dr Tibrawala memorial weekly bridge competition organised by Indore Contract Bridge Association at Yeshwant Club.
G M Kriplani/R R Sapre scored 45 points to be satisfied with the second position.
