SPS annual sports meet ends

THE TEN-DAY 6th Annual Sports Festival of Sagar Public School (Saket Nagar) concluded on Wednesday with a function held on the school premises.

SPS Schools group chairman Sudhir Kumar Agrawal and School principal Dr Jaishree Kanwar welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries.

Speaking at the function, the chief guest and District Sports Officer, Ministry of Sports and Youth Welfare, Vikas Kharandkar emphasised the importance of sports meet in the schools. The guest of honour and renowned athlete Amardeep Basediya said that healthy mind lives in a healthy body and healthy body cannot be built without any sports activity.  

The students performed in Mass PT, Display, Yoga and Judo. The school’s tiny tots spread the message of cleanliness through dental care race, cleanliness drive race and phantom race.

Abhijeet Parulekar of class XII (Commerce) won the Best Athlete Award 2006 with the score of 66.66 per cent. And the overall championship 2006 was won by Blue house with 95 points. Yellow house scored 79 points, Red house 76 points and Green house secured 64 points.

Director HRD K K Dubey, Air Commodore V K Nigam, Advisor Dr Anil Shrivastav and Administrator SPS were also present at the programme.
