A SPURNED lover turned out to be the murderer of a woman when she left him for her husband. The police already suspecting his hand in the case arrested him along with articles used in the murder today.
According to CSP Dilip Soni 24-year old Sonu Sarkehde of Ghanshyamdas Nagar, is a tailor by profession. He tried to kill Rakhi Lashkari married to Mukesh Lashkari of Lal Bahadur Shastri Nagar located near his colony, twice on the same day but due to prevalent situation could not do so and kept pestering her to marry him and on her constant refusal stabbed her to death.
The scissors thrown by him near the murder spot on Choice Palace Road in an empty plot in Vigyan Bhawan and his scooter MP 09 JE 286 have been seized by the police.
The Annapurna police said that in his statement he has confessed that he fell in love with the deceased. He came in contact with her five years back when he was called to give her home tuitions about five years back, however, when her mother-in-law started becoming suspicious of a brewing affair she stopped the tuitions.
Later when she went to her parents place in Dhanshri Nagar Sonu started following her there and they came close, however, this time her mother objected to their illicit relation and sent her back. News of their affair reached the ears of Mukesh and tension started to prevail between them causing a rift in their relation and she left him, while returning to her parents place.
Sonu kept pestering her to marry him and she kept him away by always refusing marriage. In the meantime she started demanding expensive gifts and when he did not come up with them she started to throw tantrums, which made Sonu not only jealous but also feel that she was using him.
In a fit of rage he thought of ending the matter one way or the other and taking a scissor from his shop and borrowing his neighbours scooter he fixed an appointment with her by calling her at Annapurna temple at 2 pm on September 25. He took her to Dewas for visiting the temple there and on their return in the evening tried to kill her near Navneet Garden but could not succeed. Then going forward he again asked her to marry him and on getting the same reply killed her near Choice Palace Road, Vigyan Nagar from where her body was recovered on the same night.
