Sridevi may have been missing-in-action since Judaai (1997), but the actor is all set to make her comeback after 14 years with debutante director Gauri Shinde’s English Vinglish. And things sure have changed for the yesteryear diva. As she prepares to leave to shoot in the US, it’s the first time since her marriage, that the actor will be spending time away from her husband Boney Kapoor and daughters Janvi and Khushi.

In Shinde’s film, Sridevi’s character is seen moving to the US to explore a new life, and thus a majority of the film needed to be shot there. The second schedule of English Vinglish is being currently shot in US, and it will continue for about two months.

Sridevi"Since her marriage, and motherhood, Sridevi has always stayed close to them (husband and daughters). She hasn’t stayed away from them for even a few days. But this time, she has made an exception. She would stay a good two months away from them to shoot the film," says a unit member of the film.

Sridevi married Boney Kapoor, a film producer and the elder brother of actors Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor, in 1996. They have two daughters, Janvi and Khushi.

Apparently, Sridevi’s New York schedule is at the intermission point in the film when she meets a stranger, played by Amitabh Bachchan on a flight to the US. While the director and Sridevi remained unavailable for a comment, official spokesperson of the film confirms: “Yes, Sridevi was extremely nervous about being away from home for so long. After all, it’s been 14 years since she settled into marriage and gave up her career to concentrate on her family. But English Vinglish is her comeback film and is extremely important for her.”
