Two children were killed and seven others were missing after a vehicle carrying tourists from Gujarat plunged into Sindh river on Srinagar-Leh National highway on Sunday, police said.
Though one of the ten tourists in the vehicle was rescued, the fate of seven others was not immediately known. Bodies of two children were recovered from the river.
The mishap occurred when the driver lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a curve near Captain mode, 110 kms from Srinagar, the sources said.
Rescue teams of police and locals are searching for the missing travellers.
The tourists after spending the day at Sonamarg hill resort were proceeding to Zero Point to enjoy snow, when the mishap took place, sources said.
