He grew his hair for Om Shanti Om and has sported a ponytail. Now Shah Rukh Khan has a brand new look — a short spiky do with hair swept back for his latest movie, Aditya Chopra’s Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.
And Shah Rukh’s hair stylist, Dilshad Pastakia, thinks it is his best look ever. “When I started cutting I had a different look in mind for him.” Midway through the stylist went in a different direction.
“When I finished I was amazed... he looked stunning and trendy.” Dilshad says this new look is better than SRK’s ponytailed one. “The ponytail was incidental. I was pregnant so he didn’t get his hair cut and ultimately ended up growing a pony.”
The celebrity stylist calls her much-loved client a hair icon. “Everything suits him... he is very experimental with his hair.
Whatever he does to his hair looks great on him.”
Dilshad, the stylist for most Bollywood biggies, said, “SRK is the only star who gives me complete creative freedom. He doesn’t check his cut midway, just gets up when my job is done and says ‘I like it’.” And that was SRK’s reaction when he saw his new look.
“As I told you he just does not bother. He said ‘I like it, it’s nice’, and ran for his mahurat shoot of Rab Ne... at Filmcity in Mumbai. Shah Rukh is excited about his new film."
“Adi has again written a character for me to play that I think will become as beloved as Raj of DDLJ,” said SRK. That he’s looking ten years younger will probably help the fact that his co-star is 19-year-old newcomer Anushka Sharma.
