Majel Barrett-Roddenberry, the actress of Star Trek series has died at the age of 76 after a long battle with cancer.
The actress was also the widow of Star Trek creator, Gene Roddenberry, Contactmusic reported.
Barrett-Roddenberry was suffering from leukaemia and breath her last at her Bel-Air, California home on yesterday afternoon, her representative confirms.
Her son Rod was by her side, reports Access Hollywood.
The actress starred in TV shows like Bonanza, Leave it to Beaver but she will be best remembered for her association with the Star Trek series.
She has played a part in every incarnation of the sci-fi show since it premiered in 1966 and recently completed voiceover, as the voice of the Starship Enterprise, in a new Star Trek movie by JJ Abrams.
