Stars adopt blast victims

Actors have not only donated blood to the needy but are also bearing medical expenses of some of the patients until they get well.

Nothing can bog down Mumbaikars not even a killer 'Black Tuesday'. The recent blasts in Mumbai and people coping up with it just higlights the city's spirit!

In the process, Bollywood has come to the aid of blast victims. This has stunned many in the city. Actors have not only donated blood to the needy but they have also adopted some of the patients to bear their medical expenses until they get well!

Boosting the morale of the Mumbaiites, stars have condemned the attack and gave a clarion call to fight this menace with full strength. Actors like Rahul Bose, lyricist Javed Akhtar and actress Shabana Azmi have been making visits to the city hospitals since morning and trying their level best to help the victims of this cruel attack.

Hospital sources reveal that they are getting full cooperation from Bollywood stars. According to reliable sources in Nanavati hospital, "Two well know Bollywood stars, who don't want their names to be disclosed, called us in the morning and said that they want to help the victim as they are moved by this whole mishap. They would not want their donations to be highlighted as they don't want to get publicity out of such tragic moments of Mumbai."

The person further states, "The stars further expressed their desire to bear the medical expenditure of some of the victims who are poor and unable to afford their medical expenses. I think in this crisis hour, this is the biggest help one can offer. In the hour of need, Bollywood should come forward to help victims of Bomb attack."

Even Item girl Rakhi Sawant has adopted couple of patients in Cooper Hospital. Says she, "Since morning, I am making frequent visits from one hospital to another and consoling the family members of the injured. I have also donated blood in one hospital and adopted couple of patients to bear the medical expenditure. Bollywood will always be ahead for the cause of these victims."

Actor Rahul Bose, lyricist Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi and many other stars from the industry have visited hospitals where victims are being treated and have donated blood generously. Moved by this incident, Rahul Bose says, "Mumbai will fight terrorism. It's not going to bow down to such terrorist attacks. Even just a day after eight consecutive blasts, people have been maintaining a semblance of normal and peaceful life."

Shabana Azmi says, "We should get together to fight terrorism. Let's unit and root it out from our country. In these hours of crisis, I just want to help the victims as much as I can."
