After Hollywood star Catherine Zeta-Jones, now it’s the turn of Bollywood stars Amitabh Bachchan and star couple Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna to plan a visit to Sangam city to take a holy dip during Kumbh.
Comedy king Rajpal Yadav has already reached Kumbh mela area on Monday evening to supervise the preparations for making 1.25 crore ‘Shivlingams’ at his guru Devprabhakar Shastri Daddaji’s camp in sector number 8.
Another Bollywood star couple, Ashutosh Rana and television actress Renuka Sahane, would also be reportedly arriving at their guru’s pandal to prepare the ‘shivlingams’, which would be immersed at Sangam during Kumbh.
As per mela sources, Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna would be arriving in the city on January 15, a day after shahi snan (one of the three auspicious bathing days during the 55-day religious event).
They would be staying at Kashi Viswanath Mandap, which is being prepared at sector number 13, in Arail area in Naini.
“Both the star couple would be taking part in yagyas and would participate in the worship of ‘Panchmukhi Shivling’ at the mandap,” revealed sources responsible for managing the mandap. In view of the mela administration’s strict regulation against entry of VVIPs in Kumbh mela area, both have been instructed to maintain secrecy.
Meanwhile, sources in Prayagwal Sabha have confirmed the arrival of the mega-star during the Kumbh. “Last time, he (Bachchan) had came with a priest from Varanasi but the rituals were performed by purohits of Prayagwal Sabha, so this time we have been asked to prepare for the same," said a purohit preferring anonymity.
However, another section of Prayagwal Sabha, led by Ajay Pande, has refuted the claim and said, “It’s a tradition that rituals are performed by president of the sabha and I have, till now, not received any news from his side.”
It may be recalled here that Hollywood star Catherine Zeta-Jones had said that she was planning to visit India to attend the Kumbh Mela with her husband Michael Douglas, and her children. She has reportedly said that she wanted to visit the Kumbh Mela for mental solace and well-being.
