MADHYA PRADESH karate players excelled in the first Kobe-Osaka National Karate-Do Championship organised in the City recently.
The State team stood first in the championship. It bagged 244 medals including 73 gold and 62 silver. Chhattisgarh came second with 33 medals including five gold medals and Maharashtra stood third in the medal tally with seven medals.
NITTTR Chairman Dr Mahendra Singh Chauhan was the chief guest of the prize distribution ceremony. In his address, he said such competitions provide opportunities to the players to demonstrate their talent. Hirendra Bahadur Singh was a special guest while technical director Surendra Singh presided over the function.
