State letting off industrialists: CITU

ACTIVISTS OF the Centre of Indian Trade Union (CITU) staged a dharna in front of Vidhan Bhawan on Wednesday. Hundreds of CITU activists from Ferozabad thronged the dharna sthal to protest against the alleged discrimination of labourers by some industrialists and harassment of its cadre, who have raised their voice against the discrimination. They said the local police were acting at the behest of the industrialists.

CITU activists were demanding immediate release of their leaders Mukesh Yadav, Sanyaj Jain, Dilip Yadav, Zailnul Hasan against whom the local police have slapped the Gangster Act. Former MP Subhashini Ali, State president CITU Kamlapati Tripathi, Newal Kishore Singh advocate, Puttu Singh Rathore participated in dharna.

Addressing the gathering, Subhashini Ali demanded to release of CITU leaders who were fighting for the cause of labours. She blamed the State Government for harassing the labours and their leaders on the directions of industrialists.

CITU activists came on the Vidhan Sabha Marg despite tight security. They raised slogans in support of their demands. They warned of more agitation if the workers were not released soon.
