UP CONGRESS Committee president Salman Khurshid said here on Monday that the State Government was responsible for the acute power crisis in UP.

Talking to mediapersons at the residence of CLP leader Pramod Tewari, he said that the State Assembly election might be rigged by the Samajwadi Party in case it was held under the chief ministership of Mulayam Singh Yadav.

He said that the SP government would be out of power due to its own misdeeds. The people under this government were  unhappy because instead of working for the people’s welfare,  the SP was working for its own benefits. The people were openly criticising against the State Government, he added.

Commenting on the BJP, he said that it had lost its base and forgotten its ideology. The party had reached a stage of disintegration, he further said.

Replying to a question, he said that Rahul had been taking interest in UP politics. Rahul, he said, had been attending review meetings and giving valuable suggestions. Rahul, he said, was a national leader and the State would be greatly benefited in case he paid more attention to it.

He dispelled doubts that the Congress was forging some kind of alliance with the BSP. He said that the Congress would go to polls on its own.
