Taking the signature campaign further Madhu Garg of All-India Democratic Women’s Association said, “Our next signature campaign will take place at Munshi Pulia on May 13 and then on May 15 at Aminabad. Following which we will meet the district magistrate on May 16 and hand over all the papers bearing signatures of thousands of people of the city to demand justice for the rape victim.”
The incident has shaken up this family from Assam. For the past one year, their lives have been revolving round the issue. Sabr-ud-din, the victim’s father said, “Maybe the rapists belong to a powerful section of the society yet my heart says that I would get justice. Despite threat to my life and offers of money I would stick to my stand. No amount of money can lure me and make me change my stands now.”
