If you are a commerce student and have applied for BCom in St Stephen’s, the cutoff is 97 per cent, up by 2 per cent from last year. For BSc courses, it has gone up by 1 per cent. The cutoffs for physics and chemistry are 91 per cent and 85 per cent respectively.

Anyone opting for English from the science stream must score at least 93 per cent (up by 1 per cent) while a commerce student applying for English must score 97 per cent (in 2006, a 95 per cent was good enough). A humanities student applying to the same stream has to score 87 per cent, a rise of 2 per cent.

Principal Anil Wilson said considering the students’ performance in the boards, a rise in the cutoff marks was inevitable.
