Stock of security arrangements taken at upcoming medical institute

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) member Ashok Bhan, accompanied by shrine board chief executive officer Mandeep K Bhandari, on Wednesday visited Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence (SMVDIME) at Kakryal and took stock of the security arrangements at the upcoming institute.

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) member Ashok Bhan, accompanied by shrine board chief executive officer Mandeep K Bhandari, on Wednesday visited Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence (SMVDIME) at Kakryal and took stock of the security arrangements at the upcoming institute.

Governor NN Vohra, who is also the chairman of SMVDSB, has stressed on the need for conducting appraisal of the SMVDIME complex from security perspective. In this context, Bhan conducted a detailed review of the same and advised the CEO and engineering wing to undertake certain interventions for ensuring the safety on the complex.

Later, Bhan, who is also chairman of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sports Council, inspected the ongoing work at the multi-purpose sports stadium in Katra, which is being established by the shrine board.

He was informed that the main stadium building shall be able to accommodate more than 2,000 spectators. In addition to the main building, a basketball court and a volleyball court have been made ready. He was informed that the laying of natural grass turf was going on a fast pace, while the automatic pop-up sprinkle irrigation system stood already installed. He inspected various component work, including the entry gates, approach road and boundary wall.

Bhan also visited Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Spiritual Growth Centre (SGC) in Katra and took stock of various facilities made available for the pilgrims and visitors.
