To strengthen the booth-level committees ahead of the general elections in 2014, the state BJP held a "Karyakarta Sammelan", which was attended by a large number of party workers at Doda on Tuesday under leadership of former state president Shamsher Singh Manhas.

Manhas exhorted party workers to remain prepared for the coming crucial elections in 2014 and appealed to them to strengthen the booth-level committees, which will play a very significant role in garnering support for the victory of the party.

He added that the UPA government at the Centre and coalition partners in the state have failed to meet the aspirations of people.

"The people of the state have seen malfunctioning of all the mainstream parties who have accentuated corruption at all the pervasive levels making lives of common public miserable. Under these circumstances, the BJP is the only nationalist force which can fulfil the expectations," he added.

Manhas asked the gathering to look at Narendra Modi as an undisputed leader to change the destiny of the country and this repeatedly terrorised state of Jammu and Kashmir.

The objective can only be achieved by making the booths-level committees strong and the real force to bring victory to the party, he added.

State secretary Pawan Khajuria spoke about the strategy to strengthen booth-level committees and encouraged workers to enroll new voters by directly working for people and informing them about party's ideology and pro-people policies.

Doda district BJP president Dalip Singh Parihar informed the present members, which included representatives of 308 polling booths, that Doda district assembly constituents comprise of seven mandals and 36 polling stations and assured that the party workers are ready to meet the challenges in the area under any circumstances.
