Parents and students have expressed resentment over the strike call by private schools across the city on Friday.

While students are in a quandary as the board examinations are round the corner, parents say the strike call will disturb their daily schedule as many will be compelled to take off from work.

“I’m revising the syllabus and could have some doubts. If the school is closed, I will have to wait for another day,” said Manisha Sharma, a Class 11 student of a private school.

Though parents are against the government policy, they are worried that the strike would affect their daily schedule.

“I have no other option. Either my husband or I will take leave,” said Dr Priyanka Sikri, mother of a Class 3 student.

Meanwhile, Satvir Singh Chaudhary, president, Federation of All Private School Association, said, “We are fighting for the parents’ cause. The move is not justified and hence we decided to hold a strike.”
