Thieves in Hyderabad may now find it difficult to flick  vehicles, particularly two-wheelers in a routine manner. Srinivas, an engineering student here, has developed a software to prevent two-wheelers and bikes from getting stolen.

All that the owner of the vehicle has to do is to switch off the engine of his stolen vehicle through his cellular phone. The anti-theft device will inform anyone of attempts to steal the vehicle.

But to enjoy this facility, the vehicle owner needs an active  mobile, a micro controller along with circuits to be installed in a vehicle. The moment a vehicle is being stolen, the owner will get a phone ring from the installed mobile in the vehicle.

And, while sitting inside the house, one can prevent the vehicle from being started. While  the  thief would be busy kick-starting the bike, one can easily nab him and recover the vehicle.

"The device is based on a micro-controller, a mobile phone and a circuit, that is installed in the vehicle. It is known as the Vehicle Theft Controller. After the vehicle is stolen, one can recover the same within a few seconds," said Srinivas, inventor of the device.

“With  this instrument, whenever anybody starts an engine, we  will get to know that the vehicle is likely being stolen or taken away.
