Students in Etawah on Monday pelted stones on a Delhi-bound train following a clash with fellow passengers over occupation of seats in a reserved compartment, leading the RPF to open fire in the air and arrest four of them.
Officials said some students of ITI Etawah boarded the D-5 coach of Gomti Express and allegedly tried to forcibly occupy seats, which was opposed to by the passengers.
They also allegedly misbehaved with some women in the compartment after which they were thrashed by fellow passengers.
Angry students then pulled chain between Samaho and Bharthana railway stations and indulged in stone pelting, police said.
"In a bid to control the students, who were about 100 in number, RPF jawans opened fire in the air and arrested four of them," they said.
