The dry weather conditions in the city during the Commonwealth Games may have kept the Organising Committee happy but volunteers and spectators at the venues are having a tough time.
Though the daytime temperature has remained normal for this time of the year, the humidity level has been high.
The temperature on Thursday was recorded at 34.1 degrees Celsius, which is normal for this time of the year. Humidity, oscillating between 90 per cent and 57 per cent, was high on the overcast day. A few traces of rainfall were also seen at various places over the city.
"It gets very hot in the afternoon and we are not allowed to carry our water bottles inside the venue. At times the water inside the venue finishes,” said a volunteer at the Indira Gandhi stadium, who did not want to be named.
The weather department has predicted a clear sky for Friday.
