Head Constable posted at a polling station shoots himself from his service weapon in a room in the booth.
A Head Constable of Punjab Police attempted to commit suicide in a polling station in Fazilka assembly constituency of the district on Tuesday, a senior police official said.
Head Constable Hari Singh, who was posted at a polling station in Lakhowali Dhab village, shot himself from his service weapon in a room in the booth, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Arpit Shukla said.

The cop has been taken to Civil Hospital, Fazilka and his condition is stated to be serious, he said.
The Head Constable was stated to be mentally upset due to some personal problem.
Further investigations were on, Shukla said adding polling was not disrupted due to the incident.
