Summer coolers

The summer sun is hitting its peak. Here are a few summer drinks you can try all day long. We promise instant satiation without a hangover the next day.

Nimbu anar shikanjvi
While lemon(nimbu)is a known cooling agent for summers,
pomegranate(anar)helps lower blood pressure and cholesterol.

1 fresh lemon(Cut into bits)
2 tbsp of fresh pomegranate
Few springs of fresh mint
1 tbsp of Shikanjvi masala
2 tbsp of sugar syrup/honey
A glass of crushed ice
200ml of soda water

Muddle the lemon, pomegranate seeds and mint in a separate container. Take a tall glass and fill it with the crushed ice.Pour the sugar syrup.Mix some of the soda water with the masala and the lemon muddle.Add it to the glass
followed by the rest of the soda to top up. Garnish with a lemon slice and serve immediately with a stirrer.

Mediterranean Kiss
Not only is watermelon the ideal fruit for
summers, as the high water content keeps you hydrated for hours, it also helps ease asthma. It is also quite rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, while the papaya is rich in natural fibre.
125 gms of watermelon
125 gms of papaya
125gms of musk melon
60ml of orange juice
60ml of pineapple juice
30gm of vanilla ice cream
15ml of Grenadine syrup

Mix all ingredients in a grinder and grind well. Serve the concoction in a tall glass or a martini glass with a slice of pineapple on the rim.

Apple and Cucumber crush
This summer drink with a punch tastes just right! Thanks to the tang the apple lends. The cucumber will keep you hydrated and your skin cleansed and glowing.
1 whole fresh apple
100ml fresh cucumber juice
15ml honey
A glass of crushed ice

Dice apple into small parts and put all ingredients in the blender. Add some ice and blend well. Garnish with 1 round piece of cucumber.

Thai Breeze

Lemon grass, a key ingredient in this drink is known to be a natural stress reliever. Also, it is a natural cleanser that immediately helps better your digestion. While mint too helps calm down an upset tummy.
10-15gms of lemon grass
10 ml fresh lime juice
1 sprig of mint leaves
10ml of sugar syrup
Soda to top-up

Muddle the lemon grass and the mint leaves, add fresh lime juice and sugar syrup, shake well with ice and strain it into a glass filled with ice. Top-up with soda.

5-6 sprigs of fresh mint leaves
2-3 tbsp of lemon juice
Sugar syrup as per taste
A glass of crushed ice


Pour all the ingredients in a blender and mix them well. Top it up with a bit of sprite or soda water. A simple and ideal summer drink!
