SAMAJWADI PARTY MLA Narayan Prasad Tripathi on Wednesday predicted the defeat of the BJP in the Vidisha Lok Sabha election. Addressing an election meeting to canvas support for  his party candidate Munnavar Saleem at Mangalwara market he said the BJP leaders always stuck to the State with an aim to become a minister here and did not want to go to Parliament.

Tripathi said the voters had no option other than the BJP and the Congress in the last election. But with his party in the election arena people must support it for a change and State’s development, he added.

Making a dig at Bharatiya Janshakti national president Uma Bharti, Tripathi said that she should not be under the illusion that BJP returned to power in the State because of her.

People voted for the party because they had suffered badly on fronts like water, power and road during the Congress rule and had no option other than the BJP, he said adding that it was the anti-incumbency vote that brought the BJP to power.

Party spokesman Udai Singh, in charge SP affairs in Raisen Rajiv Jain, district general secretary Talat Khan also addressed the meeting.

Khan said his party respected all religions and had eminent personalities like Anil Ambani, Amitabh Bachhan and Jayaprada.
